Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The space is roughly 1,700 sq/ft. We’re working on the permitting right now, so we’re keeping capacity limits under 50 to be conservative, though we believe the space can safely hold many more people than that.
-
Unfortunately, it's an old building and the second floor is accessible only by a narrow stairway entrance.

There are a number of speakers built into the ceiling that are quite good and reasonably loud. If you're doing a loud dance or musical event, you may want to rent more powerful speakers.
-
Not really.
There is a stationary store below the studio that is open during the day, so we wouldn't want any events that are too loud during those hours (10 AM - 6 PM).
At night you can get pretty loud, because there are no residential units right next to the space.
But we only allow events to go until 2:00 a.m., and we would still say you should be respectful of residents living around the park.
-
There is no designated on-site parking. You may also be able to find street parking in the Market, though this is admittedly limited.
You may also be able to park nearby at 20 St Andrew St (Kensington Garage), which is a very short walk from the space.

Yes.

-
It’s certainly negotiable.
-
We can't comment on regulations regarding serving food, but we have no objection to snacks and refreshments being offered at events. The space, however, is alcohol-free and we'd like to keep it that way.
-
Yes, that’s fine.
-
Yes, of course.
Please do not tinker with it (i.e., the Ecobee thermostat) absent permission, though, as we're noticing that sometimes people cause problems when they don't know how to use the system.
-
The space should be just as clean when you leave as it was when you came in.
But you don't need to sweep or mop the place, just don't cause any big mess unless you're going to clean it up.
There is no standard cleaning fee, but if you leave a mess that we have to hire somebody to clean up, you are going to be responsible for that cost.
